PLANS are under way for pop superstar Britney Spears to make her first Australian tour.

Leading concert promoters are in talks with the US singer, and tour dates are expected to be scheduled for later this year.

“All the promoters are vying for it, but the bottom line is she really wants to come here and she really wants to come here this year,” Sony Australia boss Denis Handlin said.

Handlin spoke to Barry Weiss, the head of Spears’ American record label, last week about the tour.

“I think the promoters are battling it out at the moment,” he said.

Frontier Touring’s Michael Gudinski confirmed he was in discussions with Spears’ management.

Gudinski said several promoters had been chasing Spears.

“I don’t expect anything will be worked out or finalised for a month, but we’re in there,” he said.

Spears began her new Circus tour in New Orleans earlier this month.

The stadium spectacular features a rotating stage, acrobats, special effects and a greatest-hits set.

“It will be one of the biggest concert productions to come here,” Gudinski said.

The Circus tour opened in the US to rave reviews.

The two-hour show has four acts: Circus; House Of Fun; Freakshow/Peepshow; and Electro-Circ.

Reviews for the show were mostly positive!

Spears performs one song on a stripper pole.

The set list includes her controversial new hit, If You Seek Amy.

The critics have weighed in on Britney Spears’ comeback Circus tour – but what are her fans saying?

The old energy has returned to the star: “She just seemed like she was genuinely having fun throughout the whole thing. You could just tell through her facial expressions that she was enjoying herself and loved the crowd’s reaction. When she talked to the audience after the second song, she got such a great response from the crowd that it looked like she was blushing or embarrassed and didn’t know how to react to everyone going crazy.”

After five years, Britney Spears is returning to the stage for her Circus tour—and it looks like things will be just as sexy as before. The Canadian design duo behind star-favorite label DSquared2 has teamed up with the pop star to create looks for her and her backup dancers. The designers have refashioned traditional circus costumes such as those worn by trapeze artists, clowns and jugglers into sinister and provocative looks. Video First Look at Britney Spears’ Circus Tour (Trailer)

On Tuesday night, Britney Spears will make her comeback to the arena tour circuit and today fans got a sneak peek of the pop princess’ set list.

The singer’s official Web site posted the set list for, “The Circus starring Britney Spears,” tour and fans now know that the show will be packed with a host of Brit’s most beloved songs.

The show will kick off with the title track from Britney’s sixth studio album, “Circus,” and will be followed by “Piece of Me,” from 2007’s “Blackout.”

Other Britney favorites cropping up on the set list include a Bollywood version of “Me Against The Music,” the song Britney originally dueted on with Madonna, leading some to wonder if the Queen of Pop will be appearing by video on Brit’s tour. After all, Britney did the very same for Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet” jaunt last year.

Britney will also perform “Toxic,” and a remix of her uber-classic first single, “Baby One More Time.”

The encore will include “Womanizer” and another version of the opening song, “Circus.”

And, according to Women’s Wear Daily, design house Dsquared has only just finished up the pop star’s costumes for the upcoming 30-date trek.

Dan and Dean Caten, who make up Dsquared, were brought on last year to design stage wear for Britney and they told WWD they were honored to be a part of the “Circus.”

“We are enormous fans of Britney, and have been waiting for the perfect moment to collaborate with her,” twin designer Dan and Dean told the fashion daily. “It’s going to be wild.”

of fan-made, Joachim Ohnona, a journalist based in Paris, France, recently released a book about Britney entitled “Britney On Stage,”a Britney-encyclopedia of all the performances and the appearances Brit has made on stage from the first tour to the last “Circus” performances.

Though the book is in French, Ohnona claims it is a great collectors item, featuring over 150 Britney pictures, confidential documents including tour contracts and exclusive information from the staff of Britney’s past tours.

Even better, Ohnona published the book himself, saying:
